                New Delhi, the 28th April, 1942.

                        MEMORANDUM.

        This is to certify that the Central Government's
order No. 7/1/40-Political, dated the 6th March, 1940, for
the arrest and detention under Rule 26 of the Defence of
India Rules of Puran Chand Joshi has been withdrawn on
the understanding that the Government of India may reissue
it at a later date but do not propose to do so without
giving P.C. Joshi a month's notice of their intention.
